Search "free business coaching" and most of what you find is a disguised sales funnel: a 15-minute "discovery call" that's really just a pitch for a programme, dressed up as a favour. This isn't that. It's a full, genuine coaching session, the same length and the same depth as a paid one, given free because it's also the fastest way for both of us to find out if working together properly would actually be worth your time.

I'm James, trading as Jim Moody Coaching. I'm the Managing Director of an eight-figure UK retail and ecommerce brand, and I coach founders directly on the decisions only they can make: direction, growth, hiring, and the moments where the business still comes back to them no matter how much they've delegated. This session isn't a junior associate reading from a script. It's a straight hour with the person who'd actually be coaching you.

Who it's for

A fit on both sides matters

Book the free session if

  • You're a founder or owner of a business roughly £100k to a few million in revenue
  • You've got one real, specific problem or decision you want a second opinion on
  • You want direct, experienced input, not a generic framework or course
  • You're genuinely open to the conversation, whether or not it leads anywhere further

This probably isn't for you if

  • You're looking for free, ongoing advice with no intention of ever paying for coaching
  • You want someone to do the work for you, rather than think it through with you
  • Your business is pre-revenue or very early stage with nothing concrete to work through yet
  • You're hoping for a generic pitch deck rather than a conversation about your actual business
Sound familiar?

The kind of problem this session is actually for

"Are we actually making money, or just growing?"
"Why does it still all come back to me?"
"How do I grow without hiring more staff?"
"Is this the right hire, or an expensive mistake?"
"How do I know if this agency is any good?"
"Where do I even get help with this?"

Questions

Is it actually free?

Yes. A genuine full 1:1 coaching session, normally £250, no card details taken, no obligation to book a paid session after.

What's the catch?

There isn't one. It's not a shortened taster or a disguised sales pitch: you get the same hour, working on your actual problem, that a paying client would get.

Who is this for?

Founders and owners of businesses roughly £100k to a few million in revenue, with a real, specific problem or decision they want a second opinion on.

How long is it, and how does it work?

A full hour, one-to-one, over video call. You bring one real problem; we spend the session working through it properly.

What should I bring?

One specific, real problem you're currently working through, not a general "where do I start?" A decision, a number that doesn't add up, a hire you're unsure about.

Will I be pressured to buy something afterwards?

No. Some people go on to work together after; plenty don't, and that's genuinely fine either way.

Bring your real problem. Get a real hour on it.
